PTI leaders Qaiser and Faraz are clashing over Marwat, deepening differences within the party.

A recent incident within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) saw a clash between party leaders during a meeting.

Asad Qaiser, a senior PTI figure, defended Sher Afzal Marwat, who was removed from a party committee. Qaiser believed Marwat’s expulsion was unjust and voiced his opinion during the meeting. Senator Shibli Faraz then questioned Qaiser’s authority to speak on party matters, leading to a heated exchange. Qaiser, who has been with PTI since 1995, criticized the handling of Marwat’s case and called the expulsion unfair. This disagreement resulted in pressure from other committee members for Faraz to apologize, after which Qaiser left the meeting.

The disagreement stemmed from Marwat’s public criticism of PTI’s leadership and refusal to work under them. This led to Marwat’s removal from key party committees as directed by PTI founder Imran Khan. Marwat received a show-cause notice for breaching the party’s code of conduct by making damaging statements against the party and its members. Imran Khan clarified that while Marwat had made significant contributions to PTI, his repeated disregard for party policies and public criticism of leaders led to his expulsion. Adhering to party policies was stressed as vital for unity within PTI.

In summary, the incident highlighted tensions within PTI regarding the expulsion of Sher Afzal Marwat and differing opinions among party leaders. It also underscored the importance of adhering to party policies to maintain unity and avoid conflicts within the party.
