Punjab Music Contest Desires New Singers.

The Punjab music competitions organized by Pukaar are happening across many districts, attracting participants from musical families and schools.

The contest began on April 22 in Faisalabad and has visited over 20 districts so far. Over 15,000 people aged 14 to 30 have registered. The top three winners from each district will move on to higher-level competitions, with the final winner being named the best singer in Punjab for 2024. Ghulam Sagheer Shahid from the Punjab Arts Council is supporting the event.

New regulations in Punjab have shifted the management of theatre halls to the Department of Information and Culture. The Punjab Arts Council will now oversee artists and enforce new rules. Additionally, a successful Sarangi evening was held at Al Hamra, featuring Zohaib Hasan.

The Raga Boys have returned to India after eight years and visited a shrine in Mumbai. The Lahore Arts Council recently hosted the Jalib Awami Mela to honor poet Habib Jalib, with performances by famous singers and a theater drama. Condolences continue at the Iranian consulate following the martyrdom of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, with prominent figures expressing their sympathies.
