Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was unaware of any discussion about a major military operation, according to PTI leader Asad Qaiser.
This came after PTI opposed a new military operation called Azm-e-Istehkam, aimed at eliminating militancy. The decision for this operation was made at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where Gandapur represented KP. Despite this, Gandapur claimed no such operation was discussed.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan insisted that parliament should be consulted before launching any operation. He emphasized that any decision about military action should involve the legislature. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif accused the opposition of supporting terrorists by opposing the operation.
Qaiser mentioned that PTI leaders would meet with Gandapur to clarify the situation and emphasized the need for a comprehensive discussion involving all political stakeholders to ensure stability in the region. He also stressed that any decisions should be made through parliament, addressing concerns like those raised by China.
