Robinne Lee, the writer behind the book “The Idea of You,” recently talked about what inspired her to write it.
There were rumors that the movie starring Anne Hathaway (based on Lee’s book) was somehow about Harry Styles’ life, but that’s not true.
Lee said she used to be a huge Duran Duran fan when she was a teenager. This experience helped her understand what it’s like to be a young girl completely crazy about a band and thinking they might even marry you someday!
She also talked about a funny conversation with her husband. Lee jokingly said she might leave him and their kids to run off with a much younger musician in a band. Her husband’s playful response, calling her crazy but also saying it would be a great book, sparked the whole idea in her head.
Lee said she suddenly felt like she knew exactly how the story would go, from beginning to end. She could picture the characters in her mind. She realized that all the experiences in her life up to that point had prepared her to write this book, and she felt confident she could do it well.
