The IHC rejected Bushra Bibi’s request to be moved to another jail.

Bushra Bibi, wife of former Pakistani leader Imran Khan, asked a court to move her out of her home which is now considered a jail (sub-jail).

Bushra Bibi was sentenced to 14 years in jail in a corruption case. At first, she went to a regular jail (Adiala Jail). But then, her house was declared a sub-jail so she could stay there instead. Both she and her husband claim they never asked for this. Bushra Bibi wanted to be moved back to the regular jail (Adiala Jail). She argued that her rights were being violated at her home jail, including lack of privacy, discomfort with mostly male guards, and trouble meeting with family and lawyers. The court hearing about the move was scheduled for Tuesday.

No lawyers showed up to represent Bushra Bibi at the hearing. The judge was unhappy about this and said it seemed like her lawyers didn’t want her to be transferred. Because of this, the judge decided not to move Bushra Bibi to the regular jail. Later, her lawyer arrived but it was too late. The judge suggested refiling the request.

It’s important to note that this is just one case related to Bushra Bibi. There’s another case where she is accused of a different crime.
