The Punjab government says there is a ‘serious threat’ to Adiala Jail after Imran is not allowed to have meetings.

The Punjab government has put restrictions on meetings at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, where former Prime Minister Imran Khan is serving a more than three-decade sentence.

The Information Minister, Azma Bukhari, stated that these restrictions are due to security concerns, not an attempt to hinder PTI leaders’ meetings with Imran Khan.

Recent arrests of terrorists found with a map of Adiala Jail raised security alerts, prompting these measures.

The PTI alleges a conspiracy, but the government emphasizes the need for enhanced security. Imran Khan’s party expresses concerns over his safety, while the government cites general threats to Adiala Jail’s security.

Temporary restrictions on jail visits across the province are imposed due to perceived threats, urging a security audit and precautionary measures.
