The Sindh government is asking Governor Tessori to step down.

Sindh Minister for Excise and Transport Sharjeel Memon, speaking at a press conference, strongly criticized the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) for allegedly fostering “hatred and violence” in the province.

He claimed that MQM-P has lost relevance at the local level and accused the party of promoting outdated politics of division and accusations.

Memon specifically targeted MQM-P Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui for his remarks about former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and the quota system.

He defended Bhutto’s legacy, highlighting his role in making Pakistan a nuclear power, and criticized MQM-P’s stance on hiring practices in local government institutions. Memon alleged that MQM-P has used legal maneuvers to block new job opportunities in Sindh, further exacerbating local employment issues.

The minister also criticized MQM-P leadership for abandoning their founder, Altaf Hussain, during difficult times. He accused them of various misconducts in the past, including violence during strikes and alleged ties to foreign influences. Memon demanded the resignation of Governor Tessori, holding him responsible for not addressing these issues, and accused him of baselessly attacking revered leaders.
