Ticket prices for this year’s Super Bowl, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, are breaking records and could even make billionaire Taylor Swift blush. According to TickPick, the game scheduled for February 11 is the most expensive Super Bowl to date, with an average price of around $9,800—70% higher than last year’s event.
The current “get-in” price for this year’s game is $8,188, over 50% more expensive than the cheapest ticket price during the same period last year, which was $5,997. The defending champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, are making their fourth Super Bowl appearance in five years, facing the 49ers again after their victory in 2020.
Las Vegas is a significant factor contributing to the high prices, with the city turning the three-hour game into a week-long festivity for attending fans. Brett Goldberg, co-CEO of TickPick, noted that Las Vegas has solidified itself as the sports capital of the U.S. over the past year, contributing to the record-high demand.
While ticket prices might decline closer to the game, as resellers seek to offload seats, Goldberg mentioned that last year’s Super Bowl did not see a significant drop in prices. Super Bowl LVIII is scheduled for Sunday, February 11, in Las Vegas, with kickoff at 6:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcasted on CBS and Paramount+.
