There’s a special workshop happening this week at Forman Christian College University (FCCU) in Lahore.
It’s all about helping journalists stay safe while they’re doing their jobs. The workshop runs from May 13th to 16th and is being organized by FCCU with the help of Oslo Metropolitan University in Norway.
This isn’t your average class. People from journalism and universities all across Pakistan have come together to learn how to keep journalists safe. They’ll be guided by experts like Abeer Saady, a trainer from Norway, and FCCU’s own Dean of Humanities, Dr. Altaf Ullah Khan. Even the head of FCCU, Dr. Jonathan Addleton, stopped by to highlight how important it is for journalists to be safe.
Dr. Khan is excited to have so many people dedicated to journalist safety and wants everyone to participate actively. He sees this workshop as a big step forward in making journalism a safer profession. The workshop officially started today, thanks to Dr. Syed Saqib Saleem from FCCU’s communication department. By the end of the week, everyone involved will hopefully have learned valuable skills to protect journalists who bring us important news.
