Today, Mushtaq Ghani, who is in charge of leading the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, has called for a meeting with the recently elected members.
The purpose of this gathering is to choose the individuals who will take on the important roles of speaker and deputy speaker. The meeting is scheduled to commence at 10 am.
As for the candidates, the Sunni Ittehad Council has put forward Babar Saleem Swati as their nominee for the position of speaker. It’s noteworthy that Swati initially won the election with the support of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) but later joined SIC. For the role of deputy speaker, the Sunni Ittehad Council has nominated Suraya Bibi.
On the other hand, the Opposition has made their selections as well. Ahsanullah Miankhel, representing the Pakistan Peoples Party, is their nominee for the speaker’s position. Additionally, PTI-Parliamentarian Arbab Waseem has been put forth as the opposition’s choice for the deputy speaker post. It will be interesting to see how the members of the assembly decide on these crucial positions during the upcoming session.
