Whether it’s Prime Minister Shehbaz or the PTI founder in charge, Sindh will ensure its rights are safeguarded: Murad

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah spoke to reporters outside the Sindh Assembly after voting in the Senate elections for six seats.

He mentioned that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) opposes the appointment of the chairman of the Indus River System Authority (IRSA), which is a federal body. According to Shah, this decision creates problems for smaller provinces, and the PPP believes that control of IRSA should remain with the provincial government rather than the federal government.

Shah expressed hope that the new finance minister would play a crucial role in resolving the country’s issues.

He also stated that if PTI founder Shahbaz Sharif came into power, he would ensure that Sindh’s rights were protected. Shah emphasized that the law and order situation in Sindh has deteriorated over the past six months, especially during the caretaker government’s tenure.

Regarding potential injustices against the people of Sindh, Shah asserted that the PPP would protest against any such actions.

He highlighted that establishing peace is the party’s top priority. Additionally, Shah mentioned that he is addressing concerns related to the Chairman of the Karachi Interboard, and efforts are underway to resolve the issue promptly, despite the absence of a minister in charge of the department.
